February dreaming

In between my art time and my workshops I have been dreaming... looking towards the future...loving every moment of my days and nights but still dreaming.  Bit by bit I am embracing who I was meant to be.

This chance I have had this year has brought me so much joy.  A chance to "be" an artist and a  chance to teach art again.  A chance to take walks, to read and even to take yoga classes at a lovely little place in town.  

We give so much to our families, our friends and our jobs, but now is the time for you to give to yourself and embrace your creative muse.

I have designed a series of projects that I've been using for my mentoring  students and I would love to share them with you. They are broken up into sets of two, very affordable, with a discount for all eight.  

Here is the introduction, the list of projects and one project descripion.  

This I Will Do

I will gather up my art supplies,

I will find a space that is just mine.

And through out each day I have been creating.  Here are some pages I am working on for a workshop I am teaching with Elizabeth and Seth called "The Need to Tell Stories" in NYC in just a few weeks!  The workshop is full, but there is a waiting list. What that has told us is that we need to schedule another one!  

My job is to teach 'The Art Part' and I am designing pages that will have room for the words that are the story.  Special papers, pockets, flaps, envelopes and little books are spread all over my studio.  Not to mention fabric, threads and wire.

 

All of these pages have a story which will be told soon.  I just mailed a box of supplies to Little Bird Creations in NYC.  It feels so good to get this done.  

Today in the studio i also covered these two boards with some leftover rice papers.  They are for hanging art on, instead of always nailing things into the wall.

One of my very favorite things about this workshop is how

every artist approaches their book differently.  

 I love the experimentation and freeness from each creative

artist and the way in their books they share a piece of their

souls.

The process of learning and growing is so exciting.

Thank you to all my wonderful students who have brought me so

much joy.

And now it is back to the studio for me

where I will be learning and growing myself!
