A wonderful part of summertime for me
is the time I can spend with friends...
Last week I speant a day with Shari,
an artist and bookmaker
and I wanted to share with you part of her art and studio.
Colors and textures are everywhere.
In her books and dolls,
In her love for different cultures and materials.
This is the artist herself...
And part of a larger painting,
as always click the image for a close-up
In her studio, threads and yarns hang on the walls
and sing of more color.
And even the street outside sings of art.
This is a neighbor's "art car!"
When it is not in a show it is here, parked in the shade.
I am getting ready for a journey,
we are traveling up,
up the roads of the north west,
through Washington, Canada and Alaska.
Still I can't resist my garden, my flowers...
I am hoping to find internet connection somewhere along the way,
to visit your blogs, and maybe make a post or two...
And I will definately make art....
this is may latest collage,
I'm not sure if I'm finished or not,
but it speaks of home,
and flying away...
Lately in the evenings the skies turn dark with thunder clouds
and the light is softer...
These flowers are outside my studio window.
And lastly,
a photograph of a tile floor
that lies in a medeival church in France...
the moving lights
that filtered across the stones and wood
were mesmerizing
another song of color...
of time, and mystery and new things to discover...
