A glorious spring weekend...

 

A trip to nearby Klamath Falls

Main Street was in bloom.

 

And I explored a side of the river

I hadn't been on...

 

I surprised a family of Canada Geese.

 

and made some art...

 

 

There is a new nursery by the water too...

 

filled with new ideas, wood and stone, dirt and sand

and of course...panseys
  

 

 

Mount Shasta shines on

 

and some new flowers made it home.

 

What I love about dafodills is that 

they bloom for weeks.

 

My dog, murphy is in heaven too

 

Here, 

touches of autumn are still on the ground,

 

but there is fresh water in the bird baths,

 

and a new collages to be made.

 

   

Watching the pale twilight come

"Watching the Twilight Come" is inspired by the book, I Lift my Lamp, by Emma Lazarus.  Jill Zaheer picked this book to alter for the "Inner Works Collaboration". 

I had torn some words off a page, and found it this week. If you click on the image, you will see much more of the textures and writing on this piece.

 

I have been inspired, starting a new book.  

These are parts of the front and back cover.

 

This book will be exchanged 

with a very special person for a new project.

The rusty butterfly above, and these little Australian beauties 

are all from Red Velvet"s Etsy store...

 

These are shards of old native american pottery,

 

Navajo rattles...

 

the first, a gift from my brother to his wife Cathy 

that we mailed to her in France.

 

And this, a gift from me to my brother, also sent to France.  

I just had to photograph them before they were mailed off.

I won this beautiful card and nest from Patty in Virginia at Magpie's Nest. 

 

And this African comb is from Robyn at Art Propelled.

(right now I am going out to soak up some badly needed sunshine)

 

Paschal Winery

 

The opening to my show, "these hills are mine," has come and gone, but two days later the glow in my heart remains.

 

Paschal Winery is located in the small town of Talent, Oregon, 

just north of Ashland, which is famous for it's 

Shakespeare Festival and artistic community.

 

My daughter helped plan this event.  She and her beautiful friends 

made this evening extra special.

 

Especially when they went down to the pond to see the swans, 

and this one tried to attack them... When we looked down 

from the balcony and saw them running and screaming 

across the fields in their high heals I couldn't help but remember 

them as little girls, they haven't changed at all!

 

My son and a small group of jazz musicians also made this evening special...

  

And then there was my art... I have to say I did have a moment of panic when I thought no one would like it...

 

but everything looked fine after Mandy worked her magic as 

chief painting hanger.

 

 

This is Chris, with his teacher David...

we owe him so much for all he has done for Chris.

 
 

 

My books were laid out on the tables.

 
 

People asked me questions and even studied my work.  

I sold three paintings!

 
 

I was pretty happy and silly, the wine was good, and I hadn't eaten much.  I kept on hugging everyone. Old friends and new.

These are dear friends from my own little town...

 
 

 

 

This little girl was really enjoying the music.  

Again reminding me of my daughter and her friends,

 and then of me and my friends 

and how music and dancing are both so important in life!

 

Everyone was relaxed in this beautiful environment.  I especially loved the lighting from the arched windows...
