A summer morning, I took my roses outside because they were making me sneeze, (I think, but I am still sneezing...) 
 

and filled up two muffin tins I recently bought at my favorite antique warehouse with water.

I clipped off some flowers very close to the bud, and started arranging and photographing.

Here is my lovely daughter on a balcony of a restaurant in Ashland.

After lunch we walk through Lithia Park and take photographs.

 

A new journal page for a book I am (still!) working on about the Klamath River.  My publisher is

Fremont Garden Press a small publishing house in Portland,Oregon where I think my work will fit perfectly!  Also pictured her is an older pen and ink of some of our flowers and a fan I got at a Sunday market in France last month.

So happy to be out for a day with Amanda...

and to remember France,

And return home to my gardens...

A bird waiting in the yellow sunrise. She rests, and then sings her morning song.

On this day I wait.  Wait for a walk with my dog to the river.  Wait for my shower. Wait to draw.

Not as beautiful as the morning songbird. But my world in the summer.

I have recently discovered the filter gallery in photoshop. On these three pieces I used the ink outline filters.

jewels of time

"A jewel in time" is a small acrylic and mixed-media painting.  This is the first of hopefully many more inspired by the southern french country, it's churches and it's villages.

Magical doorways are everywhere inside churches...

Arches welcome visitors.

A light over an archway leads to a new village to explore...

Locks hide the mysteries of faith,

Symbols over church doors  sing "Peace"...

Doors lead to family life,

Open doors welcome weary travelers.

A door can lead into a home in a cliff.

A door can fade in the afternoon sun.

Or be a home to tiny white flowers on a vine.
