It is a snowy afternoon, the day after Christmas.
We refilled the bird feeders
that hang in the maple outside our front picture windows.
Beyond the tree lies a snowy front yard,
a street and the silver blue Klamath River.
I love to watch the winter songbirds: gold and crimson finches,
sparrows and black capped chickadees.
This is a page that I drew and painted for a book I am working on.
