More gorgeous work, I love the idea of adding the book to the painting. We are heading into our autumn with cooler nights but still mild days, so nature here is starting to slow down. I'm so glad you liked the earrings.

love your pale and quiet wing
and your sharing of process
discovered a snow drop yesterday
and then the snows returned today
your inclusion of season is rich and palpable
so warm and quietly lovely here...

thank you so for your visit

sending spring thoughts your way,

xox - eb.

Interesting to see your process Roxanne and I love the name you have chosen for the piece and that you added the book to it. I am longing for Autumn, just as you are longing for Spring :-)

Such lyrical words and a beautiful piece of art. Fascinating to hear and see more about your process. Encaustics is a bit of a mystery to me -- and I actually like that! Looking forward to finally meeting you!

That was beautiful and what a great idea

just had to pop over from FB to see these larger, so beautiful... both in word and image, enjoyed your process... I loved working in encaustic... x

What a gorgeous post Roxanne. Love your poetic prose along with your beautiful artistic treat of letting us take a walk through your encaustic process. The butterfly wing is so gentle and touching-along with the concept of a book- always carrying a special meaning! Can't wait for us to meet! What an exciting day that will be!!

This is very interesting. I'm intrigued by the sheets of beeswax. I've only seen it in sold in huge chunks that I break off and melt. Thank you for showing us your process. I love the opaque dreaminess of your art.

Beautiful work, Roxanne. I'm really looking forward to color returning to the landscape around here too. And also meeting you in a couple of weeks!

xo

So nice to stop in here...beautiful work! I too am waiting for Spring. You have an exciting agenda planned...enjoy!

Love what u r doing with the wax--and hiding little word messages, too. Intimate.

The brown will lift. Past days the river held thousands of little black and white ducks of a sort bobbing up and down on the currents. They remind me of rubber duckies, the way they flow with the water; and each other, making a line then a curve, circling about, flitting. They could be flowers warmed and flying across to other places. To You, perhaps.

Enjoy your trip East. Thanks for your lovely note .

pale and quiet and spring returning. exactly. just how it s in my own studio today. reflective. love it

Love your creative spirit and the way you express ethereal things in your art.

roxanne, the butterfly wing is the perfect addition. a "waiting " scene!nice. my book arrived yesterday and I am slowly discovering everyone's secrets. have a blast in new york!

Roxanne, I can completely imagine you floating through your world and creating magical things around what you see. So poetic and beautiful.

I really enjoyed seeing your process. Encaustics are the crayons of adulthood. You can play with them forever.

CAn't wait to meet you!
